Is Homeopathy safe?

Homeopathy is extremely safe because only a very small amount of the substance is used in a specially prepared form that is readily absorbed by the body. Homeopathic medicines are FDA regulated. Homeopathy is commonly given to newborns and the elderly and can be helpful during pregnany.

How is Homeopathy different from herbs or aromatherapy?
Homeopathic medicines are derived from plants, minerals and animal products. The medicines are prepared using a process known as potentization. Many of the substances that we make homeopathic medicines from are poisonous. We use poisonous plants, venoms, metals, etc. During the process of potentization, the substance is diluted, and stripped of any toxic elements, however the "DNA print" of the substance remains intact. Thus when you take a homeopathic medicine, it elicits an immune response by activating your immune system. But because the medicine has been diluted and the toxins removed, there are no side effects. This is similar to how vaccinations and allergy shots work.

Homeopathic medicines do not necessarily need to be taken every day in order to be effective. Because they work on an immune level, often a single homeopathic medicine willl do the job of helping you with many of your complaints. This is because many illnesses are caused by a compromised immune sytem. Homeopathic medicines are manufactured by specialized homeopathic pharmaceutical companies that are monitored and inspected by the FDA.

Does Homeopathy come from the East? Is it an Eastern Philosophy?
Homeopathy was discovered in Germany by a German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. Homeopathy is rapidly becoming popular all over the world.

Is Homeopathy a new science?
Homeopathic medicine has been used for over 200 years. It was extremely popular in the United States until the American Medical Association (AMA) banned it's practice. In recent years Homeopathy is rapidly gaining popularity.

I am religious and I am concerned that Homeopathy is new age?
Homeopathy is a science based on sound principles of physics and chemistry. My patients come form all different walks of life and religions. I have patients who are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, Budhist, Taoist, B'Hai, Jehovas witnesses, Christian scientists, Hari Krishnas, priests, rabbi’s, etc. Many religious leaders advocate the use of homeopathy as it doesn’t involve the use of drugs. Homeopathy is not a religion, it's a system of medicine and will not interfere with your religion or belief system.

Will Homeopathic medicine interfere with other drugs or treatments that I am taking?
While homeopathic medicines do not affect conventional drugs or treatments, certain conventional drugs or treatments may affect the actions of the homeopathic medicine. If you feel that your conventional medication may be interfering with your homeopathic treatment, speak to your homeopath, as there are special homeopathic preparations, called LM potencies, which can be taken every day to counteract this. I regularly find that as my patients’ health improves by using Homeopathy, less prescription drugs are needed. Always speak to your doctor before changing, reducing or terminating medication that has been prescribed for you.

I have been taking homeopathic medicines and have noticed a reaction (such as a rash, a cold, fever, diarrhea, a discharge, increased perspiration, etc). What should I do? Is this a side-effect?
Homeopathic medicines have no known side effects. If your system is very toxic however, a homeopathic medicine can stimulate your body to go through a brief detoxification process. In the event that this happens, speak to your homeopath and he/she will advise you on what steps to take.
